TRACK RULES

Rule Book Disclaimer

The rules and/or regulations set forth herein are designed to provide for the orderly conduct of racing events and to establish minimum acceptable requirements for such events. These rules shall govern the condition of all events, and by participating in these events, all participants are deemed to have complied with these rules. NO EXPRESSED OR IMPLIED WARRANTY OF SAFETY SHALL RESULT FROM PUBLICATIONS OF OR COMPLIANCE WITH THESE RULES AND/OR REGULATIONS. They are intended as a guide for the conduct of the sport and are in no way a guarantee against injury or death to a participant, spectator, or official. The race director shall be empowered to permit reasonable and appropriate deviation from any of the specifications herein or impose any further restrictions that in his opinion do not alter the minimum acceptable requirements. NO EXPRESSED OR IMPLIED WARRANTY OF SAFETY SHALL RESULT FROM SUCH ALTERATION OF SPECIFICATIONS. Any interpretation or deviation of these rules is left to the discretion of the officials.

IMAGES, PHOTOS and VIDEO. All images, videotape, camera film, etc… taken on Clinton Motorsports Park grounds remains the property of Clinton Motorsports Park. All drivers/owners should inform their crewmembers, fans and families that no images may be used for commercial gain without written permission from Clinton Motorsports Park, LLC. Anyone found publishing images taken at Clinton Motorsports Park without written permission would be in breach of copyright laws. Altus Speedway reserves the right to restrict any person or persons from photographing events held at this facility. Furthermore, Clinton Motorsports Park reserves the right to confiscate any film taken of any event.

GENERAL TRACK RULES
1. Appeal Process:
1.1 A car owner or driver may file an appeal against a judgment imposed by the Technical Director provided that the individual submits such appeal within one hour of the first judgment. Appeals must be submitted in writing, signed by the applicant, and accompanied by the appeal fee of one hundred dollars. If the appeal is won the fee will be refunded. If the appeal is lost the fee is non-refundable. Final appeals must be received at the office within 48 hours of notice to appeal.
1.2 The General Manager shall establish procedures for hearing an appeal and shall not be bound by technical or formal rules of evidence for procedure. The hearing will be conducted in the manner best suited to the relevant facts. He or she may review written information concerning the appeal and the decision may be based on that evidence. The decision may also be made to hold another hearing.
1.3 The General Manager shall determine time, date and location of the hearing. The appellate will be notified in writing. There is no restriction on those who may attend the hearing.
1.4 Cost of the preceding shall be at the expense of the racetrack. However, if the General Manager determines that the appeal may have been instituted without merit, the cost for such hearing will be the responsibility of the owner/driver who instituted the charge.
1.5 The racetrack reserves the right to penalize any driver or car owner judged to be spiteful, malicious, or acts contrary to the rules and regulations. The racetrack shall have the right to publish the judgment of the General Manager and use the names involved. The persons or teams so named shall have no recourse to act against these parties or the publisher of the judgment.
2. Driver Eligibility:
2.1 Our racing events are open to all persons complying with these rules and specifications and their admission into the racing area signifies their acceptance of and compliance with all provisions.
2.2. All drivers must complete a driver agreement.

3. Conduct:

3.1 Professional, courteous conduct is expected from all participants at all times. Anyone acting in an unsportsmanlike manner may be put on probation, suspended and/or fined according to the seriousness of the offense. Owners and drivers will be responsible for the conduct of their pit crew and/or any person signing in on their car. The car owner is the sole representative in any debate with an official relating to his/her car.

3.2 Refusal of any owner, driver or crew to abide by the set rules and the usual policy of conducting auto races will be grounds for the management and/or technical committee to refuse to let such person or car take part in race program and/or institute penalties as they see fit. Troublemakers will not be tolerated and may be barred from all speedway events.

3.3 Any participant entering the judges stand, announcers booth, or flag stand for the purpose of argument will be disqualified and lose points and money for the entire program.

3.4 Any person caught striking a track official will be banned from the facility for a period of no less than 1 (one) year. Additionally, we will file charges and prosecute for assault.

3.5 Any fighting in the pit area will subject the offenders to suspension depending upon the seriousness of the incident. Any continuing problems from the same individual will result in permanent suspension.

3.6 No drinking of any alcoholic beverage before or during the racing program!!! Violation of this rule will result in expulsion from the pits. Management shall then determine what disciplinary action to be taken before the next race or meeting, whichever is first.

4. General:

4.1 Rules and regulations if not covered herein will be interpreted by the officials and management and will be final. The management will make any changes or additions to the rules when deemed necessary for the benefit of all concerned.

4.2 Continuous development in racing may necessitate changes that could not be anticipated at the time of publishing rules. Alternate rules may be necessary to update, modify, add, or delete rules.

4.3 No deviation from normal running rules shall be made unless all drivers, crew and officials are notified of changes beforehand. Anyone not attending pit meeting will not be given consideration on rule changes during an event.

4.4 Decisions of the officials on interpretation of rules and scoring of position in a race will be final. Public address announcements are not official results. Official results must come from the official scorers.

4.6 Track officials reserve the right to refuse entrance to any car, driver, owner, or any other person or persons to the pit area, infield, or grandstands.

4.7 Drivers will adhere to a five-mile per hour speed limit in the pit area. This includes tow vehicles. Fines and/or suspension may result from speeding in the pit area.

4.8 The speedway will not be responsible for damage to any vehicles in the pit area or competitions area. Only tow vehicles with racecars attached and official cars, designated by promoter will be permitted through the pit gate. Any other vehicles will be charged $10. All tools and equipment must accompany racecar and/or tow car.

4.9 All drivers must wear approved helmets at all times while they are on the track, including hot laps, time trials, and racing. Fire resistant drivers' uniforms, gloves and face shields are also required.

5. Pit Passes:

5.1 A pit pass is a fee charged for entry into the restricted area of the facility it must be worn above the waist and visible at all times. Unauthorized use of pit passes will be dealt with severely.

5.2 No driver, owner or crewmember may enter pit area until he/she has registered and signed all entry forms and releases.

5.3 Pit passes may not be transferred or assigned to anyone else.

6. Minors Release:

6.1 Anyone less than eighteen years of age must have a release signed by his or her parent or legal guardian. This applies to pit crews, drivers, and anyone entering the pits.

6.2 Minimum age for drivers is thirteen. We have the release forms available. Contact us before racing. You cannot enter the pit area without having a release executed.

7. Rain Checks:

If rain should occur before all heat races scheduled for the event have been completed, rain checks will be given and no purse or points will be paid. If rain occurs after all heat races have been completed, all money earned will be paid for the events completed. The balance of the purse and events will be added to a later program or programs decided upon by the promoters.

8. Purse and Points:

8.1 The starting driver shall earn all points and payment of purses. It is assumed that financial arrangements have been made between driver and owner.

8.2 In case of overpayment of position, it will be refunded to the track or the track will withhold from any future winning.

8.3 Any car found illegal without protest being filed would forfeit winnings to track. If protested car is found illegal, winnings will be paid back to next positions.

8.4 Car owner may use a "stand in" driver. General Manager must approve all driver changes.

9. Inspection and Protest Procedures:

9.1 Track officials reserve the right to demand the inspection of any part of any racecar for determining the legality without the protest fee. The track officials also reserve the right to refuse the entrance of any car or driver/owner for not complying with the rules.

9.2 A formal protest will be accepted from a driver or car owner only if their car is in a race with the car being protested.

9.3 Protest fee is $50 visual or $100 tear down. The protested car must be torn down or refusal to disassemble for inspection will disqualify car and driver. The speedway is not responsible to furnish any tools or equipment for inspection on a car protested by another driver or car owner.

9.4 All winnings and points for the racing event will be forfeited on any car found illegal or upon refusal to tear down.

9.5 Any car found illegal without protest being filed would forfeit winnings to track.

9.6 Track reserves the right to impound parts or complete cars in the event of disqualification or serious accident.

10. Line Up and Race Procedures:

10.1 Our racing program is based on a full line of cars in each class. If this number is not available, alternate scheduling of program may be used. Racing events may be lined up in various ways to accomplish the best racing program.

10.2 Line-ups for the heat races will be determined by draw.

10.3 Line-ups for heat races will be posted approximately ten minutes before race time. It is the driver's responsibility to check the line up and move their car into the staging lane for line up.

10.4 Cars not in their proper place when the pit steward moves them out to the track will be starting in the back of the pack. We will not hold an event up for you.

10.5 Once the cars have been staged for their event, moving that row straight ahead will fill empty slots in the lineup.

10.6 The inside pole driver sets the pace for the start or restart of the race.

10.7 If a collision or spin out occurs before all cars have cleared the second turn on a start or first restart, the race will be stopped. All cars return to their original lineup position unless they go to the pits or work on their cars. After all cars clear the second turn, the race will be stopped only in case of emergency or multi-car piles up. If the race is stopped after all cars clear turn two but before the first lap is completed, restart will be original lineup single file. Cars causing yellow or red flag will go to the back of the pack as directed by the head flagman.

10.8 Cars may re-enter the track area from pit road under green flag conditions. Cars in the infield may reenter the track if it can be done so safely. Cars may not come onto the track from the pit area.

10.9 If track conditions warrant a caution or red flag, track scorers will immediately stop recording. The lineup for continuation of the race will be based on the running order of the last completed lap. Cars involved in the crash and cars going to pit road will go to the back of the line. Any car that is worked on by driver, crew, or track officials will be moved to the rear of the line.

10.10 The flagman or officials will at any time during a race have the right to deem a car unsafe and have the flagman give the car in question the black-flag. A black flag for unsportsman like conduct disqualifies that car for the rest of the race. If a car receives a black flag for safety reasons, the car can make repairs and return to racing under the track entrance rules.

10.11 In order to get credit for finishing a race, the driver must complete at least one posted lap.

10.12 At the flagman's discretion, the winner may take a victory lap with checkered flag. One slow down lap will be made after receiving the checkered flag before exiting the track.

10.13 In the case of a dead heat, the win goes to the inside car.

10.14 The flagman's decision will be final during any event. Any argument concerning his decision may result in your disqualification for the entire race program.

10.15 During races, the only people allowed on the track are the safety crew and racing officials. Everyone must stay behind the fences at all times unless requested by the officials to assist for some special reason. Anyone coming on to the track to work on a car will cause that car to go to the back of the lineup upon restart of the race.

10.16 Unauthorized driver change will result in disqualification and forfeiture of all money and points earned during the race program.

10.17 Any driver intentionally causing an accident will be disqualified for the rest of the racing program. Officials will decide what action to take on the offending driver.

10.18 All cars are required to help pack the racetrack. No pack, NO HOT LAP!

11. Flags and Lights

11.1 The following flag system will be used in conducting an event.

Green - Beginning of race, track is clear

Yellow - Reduce speeds and maintains position. DO NOT RACE UNDER YELLOW FLAG.
Blue/Yellow - Passing or move over flag. Cars receiving this flag shall yield the groove so that lapping cars may pass.

Red - Emergency on the track, all cars are to stop immediately and proceed to start/finish line for realignment. No working on cars during a red flag. Cars being worked on will be placed at the back of the lineup.

Black - Consultation flag, pull off track immediately. A rolled up black flag is a warning to the driver. Any over aggressive driving will result in disqualification for that race. A black flag held stretched out is for mechanical or hazardous situations, proceed immediately to the pit or work area.

White - One lap remaining in the race.

Checkered - Race is completed.

Any car not meeting the spirit of these specifications and rules, at the discretion of Clinton Motorsports Park officials, will not be allowed to compete until all requirements are accomplished.

IMCA rules apply with the following exceptions: No engine claim, aluminum heads OK (must add 50 lbs. in front of motor). Open transmission rule. 5" rear spoiler OK, aluminum roof OK. Weight 2350 lbs. after race with driver. Rear pumps OK. HOOSIER I.M.C.A., SW Speed or American Racer KK704 tire, no grooving rear tires.

Limited Mod Rules

IMCA Sport Mod rules apply with the following exceptions; NO ENGINE CLAIM.

Factory Stock Rules

Chassis: Full stock frame and suspension, 108" minimum wheelbase, 3300 lbs. after race with driver. Tires: Asphalt scuffs only. Engine: Maximum 370 C.I., flat top pistons, cast iron intake (no off road intakes), OEM heads (no off-road).

2 Barrel Sprints

1500 lbs., 368 c.i., 2 barrel carb. (max 500 cfm), OKC or OCRS tire, 16 sf wing.

DEMOLITION DERBY RULES

1. All drivers must know and obey these rules for safety or they will be disqualified.

2. Drivers must be 16 years old or older.

3. Drivers must fill out and sign track release form to participate.

4. SAFETY EQUIPMENT: Seat belts and shoulder harnesses are required, will be tested, and worn, an approved crash helmet will be worn. A 2 1/2 lb. Dry chemical fire extinguisher at the right of the driver is mandatory.

5. No locked or posi-trac rear ends allowed. Single Track ONLY!.

6. American passenger cars and standard station wagons only (Non commercial, American). No jeeps, pickups, or ambulances. No cutting of any body parts, however if car has prior damage, necessary cutting will be allowed. No reinforcing of frame or body parts, except for the drivers door. Radiator must remain in original position. All Equipment must be standard. No studded snow tires. No body alteration, unless to trim for tire clearance. No mud tires, No water in tires. Air only

7. IMPORTANT: glass and mirrors inside or out, must be removed, (glass not allowed in door panels or trunk). All lenses, chrome, body molding must be removed and loose parts inside car and trunk removed. HEADLINERS, UNUSED SEATS, CARPET AND INSIDE DOOR PANELS MUST BE REMOVED. THESE RULES WILL BE STRICTLY ENFORCED.

8. The drivers door must be reinforced. Reinforcement material cannot extend more than 2 inches beyond the outer limits of the upright door posts. Door can be completely welded. Must have at least one bar inside door not to exceed 6” in front and beyond interior edge of door.

9. Car must have a number on BOTH FRONT DOORS and be at least twelve inches in height.

10. Original gas tanks MUST BE REMOVED; A SUPPLEMENTAL TANK (maximum 6 gallon capacity) shall be placed in the rear passenger area, and rigidly secured and covered.

11. No reserve water tanks.

12. Battery MUST be removed and be secured inside of the car on the floor, in front of thepassenger seat and covered. Two batteries are NOT allowed.

13. Engines must be in original location and must have factory motor and mounts. Engines may be chained down.

14. The cars engine hood MUST be chained and MUST be able to be opened for inspection. Two eight inch fire holes are required in hood, one on each side.

15. Door and trunk lids may be chained or welded shut but not reinforced. If trunk is permanently shut, an inspection hole of 12 to 15 inches is required. No more than four one inch welds may be used per door or trunk ( a chain may be used to secure but not to reinforce).

16. Either or any starting fluid may not be used. If found in the car during or after race, car, driver and crew are disqualified.

17. You must be making contact. Anyone playing possum will be disqualified. If you are still for 60 seconds.. You are out! No contact for 60 seconds… You are out! If your car is dead, STAY IN YOUR CAR!

18. Everyone stops immediately for a red flag.

ROLL-OVER CONTEST RULES

Competition will be open to any mid-size, compact, or sub-compact car, including station wagons. Each entry will take three (3) attempts at rolling the car. Points will be awarded to each roll and the entry with the most points at the end will win.

MOTORSPORTS COMPETITION IS VERY DANGEROUS; MAKE SURE YOU UNDERSTAND THE RULES OF THE COMPETITION PRIOR TO ENTERING.

SCORING:
Roll over attempts must be made in succession. If the vehicle’s main roof is determined by the officials to be crushed or weak, entry will NOT be able to continue competition.

POINTS:
One (1) point for each side, roof and other side. Six (6) points for complete roll. Points will be accumulated throughout the three attempts.
You may get a push to the starting area, but car must run under it’s own power to attempt roll.

CAR SPECS:

1. Any stock manufactured compact or mid-size car - American or Foreign.

2. No moon roofs, T-tops or convertibles allowed.

3. All doors must be welded shut and heavy gauge wire mesh or expanded steel must be welded into the drivers door window opening.

4. ALL GLASS - headlights, taillights, and windows must be removed and car must be debris free.

5. Headliners, passenger seat (if buckets) and bottom rear seat must be removed.

6. Maximum of three gallons of gas only. No ½ or full tanks permitted.

7. Padding on drivers door is mandatory.

8. Manufacturers seatbelt or track approved seatbelt mandatory.

9. Long sleeved shirt, long pants, shoes or sneakers mandatory.

10. Helmet mandatory.

11. Car must be numbered and your name must be painted on it. No obscene graphics or gestures allowed.

12. Leave passenger side seat belt in place. Fasten it together and use it to hold yourself down during a roll.

RECOMMENDED BUT NOT MANDATORY

1. Roll bars

2. Shoulder harness

3. Gloves

4. If driver wears glasses they should be taped on.

FINAL DECISION ON ALL MATTERS IS LEFT UP TO THE DISCRETION OF THE OFFICALS IN CHARGE.

GOBBLER 200 Enduro Race

1. The first car to complete 200 laps or the leader
after (4) hours is the winner.

2. Each car and driver must be entered.

3. The race will be started with four cars abreast
with a maximum of 150 cars starting.

4. Cars must hold their position until the green flag is displayed.

5. The red flag will be displayed if the track is blocked
and racing can't continue, all cars must stop. (cars moving
under the red will receive a five-lap penalty) The race will be
restarted with the cars in the same position as before the red flag.
A car involved in the blockage that can continue may do so.

6. Cars will be allowed to enter the hot-pits for repairs or servicing.
Reentry to the racing surface will be allowed as the pit official
indicates. Pit stops will be permitted under green conditions only.
(Pitting under/during a red flag will result in a five-lap penalty).

7. Radios are not permitted in cars, pits or grandstand.

8. Transponders will be used for scoring. Each car must have a transponder mounted before entering the racing surface. Drivers will be responsible for the transponder mounted to their car, if a transponder is lost or damaged driver is responsible for repair or replacement.

9. Pit stops must be achieved in an orderly and safe fashion. Cars entering the regular pit area are done for the event, work on cars in the hot-pit area only.

10. There will be a claiming rule in effect for competitors.
Any car that finishes in the money can have its engine claimed
by the driver owner or another car that finished in any money
paying position. The price will be $1000.00 cash. It the owner of
the engine being claimed does not accept the $1000.00, he
does not get paid for any position. All claiming must be done
within 10 minutes of completion of the event and be in writing.

Car and Body

1. Any 1948 or newer sedan is eligible. No pick-ups, four
wheel drives, jeep type vehicles or station wagons.
Minimum stock wheelbase allowed 90 inches.

2. Roll cage optional. Gutting of factory interior panels only allowed for roll cage clearance. EXAMPLE: you may remove the inner door bracing if you are replacing it with door bars.

3. No-bracing in the bumper areas. However, bumpers must
be chained or cabled as a safety item to help retain the bumper.

4. All doors must be welded, chained, or bolted shut.

5. All glass must be removed. Removal of windshield is
optional. If removed, 3/4 of opening must be replaced
with a screen.

6. Racing approved shoulder harness and lap belts are recommended. Racing seats allowed.

7. All burnable type material, floor mats, head liners, door
panels rear seats, etc. must be removed. The rear seat shelf
must be left in as a fire stop, and any openings to the trunk
area must be enclosed.

8. Complete bumper to bumper steel unibody must
be retained. No lightening permitted.

9. The stock steel unaltered floor pan, firewalls, trunk and
wheel wells must be retained. (Fuel cells, properly attached
may be located in the trunk.

10. Cars must retain their strictly stock appearance, no
cutting chopping, channeling, or shortening allowed. One hole
may be cut in the hood and that must be in the carburetor ares.
Hoods must be kept in place at all times.

11. Mesh window nets are permitted, but must be removable.

Suspension, Tires, Wheels

1. Suspension parts must remain absolutely stock for that
make and model car. No spacers, lumber or chains, etc. may
be used to alter stock suspension of that car.

2. Stock wheels only.

3. Dot legal tires must pass thru a 9" hoop at the bulge. No gumball tires, no snow treads, no studded tires.

Engine

1. The engines must be strictly stock for that model and
make and in its original mounts. No aftermarket external oil coolers.

2. A/C and heat components may be removed.

3. Smog equipment may be removed.

4. Minimum 18 lbs. of vacuum at 1000 RPM

5. Air cleaner to oil pan must be all factory equipment!

Transmission

1. Stock transmission and rear end only. No external oil coolers.

2. No locked rears.

Miscellaneous

1. Fuel cells permitted, and may be placed in the trunk area
if securely fastened, or gas tanks must be original and remain
in original location. Must have two (2) extra metal holding straps.

2. Batteries may be relocated but must be contained in a marine
container or comparable container securely fastened.

3. All plastic grills must be removed or replaced with screen mesh.
Headlights, tail lights door handles and all chrome must be removed.

4. Any loss of wheel or tire requires your immediate leaving
the race course. Continuing on a flat tire is not permitted.

5. Rupture of your gas tank and/or loss of gas requires
immediate black flag.

6. No locked rears.

7. Approved helmet required.

8. Any driver climbing out of a car during the green flag will be disqualified. NO Exception!

9. Cars will hold their position until the green flag is displayed.

10. The yellow flag will not be used. If there are cars with breakdowns or crashed, the other cars will avoid them and continue to race.

11. The red flag will be displayed ONLY if the track is blocked and racing cannot continue. All cars must stop under the red flag. The race will be restarted with the cars in the same position as before the red flag. Any car involved in the blockage that can continue to race may do so. The flagman will indicate the middle of the race. The white flag will indicate the leader is on the final lap.

Starting Position Assignment

1. All starting positions will be by date and time of pre-entry. The earlier you enter the better your starting position.

All rules are determined by Clinton Speedway and ALL Decisions are final!
